At the core of DAMENWAHL is self-determination: Berlin-based female artists choose whom they exhibit with. In an increasingly defunded cultural sector, this autonomy becomes a political and artistic gesture in itself. The invitation turns into an act of solidarity, and exchange into a counter-model to competition and exclusion. DAMENWAHL is conceived as an open, ongoing project.
